Dust and Decay

Finding beauty in the leftover and the overlooked.

A close-up of rusted metal and peeling paint on an abandoned building facade.

The approach

I spent two years photographing abandoned farmsteads in the rural county where I grew up. I wasn't looking for nostalgia — I was looking for texture. The grain of rusted metal, the sag of a barn roof, the way morning light falls through a broken window. This work isn't about what was lost, but what remains.
