Salt Air

The coast in its quieter moments.

A wooden pier stretching into mist, the water barely visible beneath a low grey sky.

The approach

I've never understood why people photograph the coast only when the weather is clear. The salt air is thicker after a storm, the light softer, the colour more forgiving. I made this series on days when most people stayed inside — and I think I'm the one who got the better view.
